Former Dead and Divine frontman Matt Ryan Tobin has been forging ahead with his RITUAL project since early 2014 and has now unveiled plans to deliver a debut LP with the group this fall. Though details have yet to arrive in full, the album will be issued in Canada via Distort/Fontana North, by Halfcut/Shock in Australia and New Zealand, and through Bullet Tooth for the rest of the world.
A press release notes that following Dead and Divine's demise in 2012, Tobin quickly hooked up with another set of musicians to form RITUAL. Described as being "full of raw and untainted passion," the rest of the lineup comprises guitarists Aaron Le Tual and Tim Busa, bassist Matthew Rigg, and drummer Dillon Forret.
Tobin says of his Hamilton-based group: "We were born from waste. We are the product of broken bands, miles traveled and mistakes made. We are RITUAL."
While specifics on their debut LP has yet to arrive, you can sample a few thrashed-up, mosh-starting sounds from the set in a teaser trailer, which you can see down below.
Tour dates:
09/19 Toronto, ON - Riot Fest
