The Replacements Reveal Lineup for Reunion Shows

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 18, 2013

Har Mar Superstar managed to trick the internet into believing he was the new guitarist for the Replacements, but such speculation can now end, since the band have confirmed the lineup who will be performing at this year's reunion shows.

Core members Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson will be joined by seasoned session drummer Josh Freese (Guns N' Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Weezer) and guitarist David Minehan (The Neighborhoods).

StarTribune points out that both Freese and Minehan played with Westerberg during his early '90s solo endeavours. Freese additionally performed on a couple songs for the Replacements' 2006 compilation Don't You Know Who I Think I Was?

So far, we've seen a couple of brief rehearsal clips from the band (see below). Their live schedule currently consists of Riot Fest appearances in Toronto, Chicago and Denver. They have no shows scheduled beyond these gigs.

This reunion began with their Songs for Slim covers EP, with proceeds going to former guitarist Slim Dunlap, who suffered a stroke.

Tour dates:

08/25 Toronto, ON - Riot Fest

09/15 Chicago, IL - Riot Fest

09/21 Denver, CO - Riot Fest
