As previously reported, iconic Swedish hardcore troupe Refused got back together after a 14-year hiatus to play some reunion shows, but what started off as a handful of festival gigs has now exploded into a full-on summer event. Best of all, the band have now scheduled some Canadian dates.
On top of previously announced performances at Coachella and in New York, the band have now revealed a second leg of North American shows. These ones should be of note to those of us up north, as Refused will be playing three shows on our side of the border.
First up is a July 21 performance at Montreal's Metropolis, and they'll spend the next two nights at Toronto's Sound Academy. Joining the group on the newly announced dates will be California-based hardcore supergroup OFF!, meaning there's going to be a lot of punk rock royalty at these shows. Refused last toured North America in 1998. The ill-fated trip, which resulted in the break-up of the band, was chronicled in the Refused Are Fucking Dead documentary.
