Not even a full month ago, Red Hot Chili Peppers announced that they would be following this year's Unlimited Love with a second double album dubbed Return of the Dream Canteen. With a little over a month to go until the latter's release, the band have now begun teasing its first single.
A new video teaser shared by RHCP today points to a new track titled "Tippa My Tongue" arriving this Friday, August 19.
The tease, found below, makes sure to include a snippet of new music. As the recognizable RHCP asterisk comes alight on the tongue of frontman Anthony Kiedis, frames of an expectedly trippy music video cycle through to bring us some of Flea's funky, fierce bass — which will surely have you moving like Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.
Some credits also reveal that the video for "Tippa My Tongue" is directed by Malia James, who previously worked with RHCP on a video for Unlimited Love's "These Are the Ways."
As previously reported, Return of the Dream Canteen is out October 14. Read Exclaim!'s review of Unlimited Love.
In September, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith will pay tribute to late friend and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
