They will be unable to perform for six weeks

Red Hot Chili Peppers will not perform for at least six weeks after "a band member was injured."

The group had been scheduled to appear this coming weekend (December 9) at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas concert at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. On Instagram, however, they announced that the performance has been cancelled. They will instead play at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas Encore on March 2 at the same venue.

It's unknown which of the four members was injured or how seriously.

Currently, RHCP don't have any shows scheduled until February 17, which is more than six weeks away, so there shouldn't be any more cancelled gigs if healing goes according to plan.

The Chili Peppers just announced a North American summer tour, including a stop in Toronto.
