Did Pusha T write McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It" jingle? He says that he did, and while that claim has been disputed, he's going all-in with his new song for Arby's, which is a diss track against McDonald's.

The minute-long "Spicy Fish Diss Track" begins with Pusha staking his claim over "I'm Lovin' It," rapping, "I'm the reason the whole world love it."

He then goes on to insult the Filet-O-Fish sandwich: "Filet-O-Fish is *** and you should be disgusted / How dare you sell a square fish asking us to trust it / A half slice of cheese, Mickey D's on a budget?" It's all in service of promoting the Arby's fish sandwich.

This is the latest chapter in a long-running dispute over whether Pusha T wrote the "I'm Lovin' It" jingle. Record exec Steve Stoute said in 2016 that Pusha and his brother No Malice (also of Clipse) wrote "I'm Lovin' It" — although credited contributors on Justin Timberlake's 2003 single "I'm Lovin' It" (including co-writer Tom Batoy and engineer Danny Saber), have disputed this, saying the jingle was created for a German ad agency.

Pusha T told Rolling Stone, "I am solely responsible for the 'I'm Lovin' It' swag and the jingle of that company. That's just real. I am the reason. Now I gotta crush it."

He continued, "I did it at a very young age at a very young time in my career where I wasn't asking for as much money and ownership. It's something that's always dug at me later in life like, 'Dammit, I was a part of this and I should have more stake.' It was like half a million or a million dollars for me and my brother — but that's peanuts for as long as that's been running. I had to get that energy off me, and this [ad] was the perfect way to get that energy like, 'You know what? I'm over it.'"

There's one piece of evidence that Pusha T had at least something to do with the jingle: on YouTube, there's a hip-hop version of the song featuring rapping from Clipse, with brief backing vocals from Timberlake. Clipse aren't credited on the official release of "I'm Lovin' It," however.
