Last month, PUP's Stefan Babcock gave us an idea of how hard Canadian musicians will be hit by COVID-19, and the frontman has now shared a new song written in quarantine.
"Waiting for Something to Happen" finds Babcock accompanied from distance by PUP beatkeeper Zack Mykula on a sampler pad and French horn player Rachel O'Connor.
In the chorus, he sings, "You barely feel like you're alive, you think about it all the time," while also referencing keeping in touch with friends and letting your phone battery die.
"Stef wrote this song last week and Zack played sampler pads on it," the band wrote on Twitter. "This doesn't sound like pup coz the 4 of us can't be in the same room together but maybe you'll like it anyway. Quarantine is boring as shit."
Before social distancing was all the rage, PUP shared a very social video for "Morbid Stuff," the title track of their third full-length album that arrived last year.
In February, a pair of PUP videos were named finalists for the 2020 Prism Prize.
