Earlier this year, Project Pablo (a.k.a. Patrick Holland) released his excellent Basic EP via Vancouver imprint Hybridity Music. On somewhat of a hot streak, he's already back with a follow-up.
The Utensils EP features three new tracks with names taken from the items in his kitchen — "Blender," "Fork" and "Instant Coffee," the latter of which is hardly a utensil, nor something anyone should really own, but we digress.
According to a brief blurb from the artist, the release is "tape saturated, swung-out house music; hints of the old and new."
An eight-and-a-half-minute preview EP corroborates that description. Across all three songs, Pablo demonstrates his penchant for creative house and choice samples.
Check out a preview of Utensils below. The EP will arrive on September 8 as a digital release and 12-inch record. Pre-order the release here.
