Vancouver producer Patrick Holland formerly made music as 8prn, but he's recently re-emerged under the new moniker Project Pablo, releasing his debut EP Basic this week.
The release demonstrates the artist's ability to create lush, addictive house music. A-side "Holdin' On" builds to its climax with an array of analog synths and an ethereal vocal sample, while B-side "Boat" is a four-on-the-floor stomper with a funky bass synth. Rounding the release out is a bonus track called "Toothpaste."
