Pro-Pain

Run For Cover

BY Greg PrattPublished Jan 1, 2006

Get a load of that artwork, which manages to be both demo-quality and generally stupid all at once. Ah well, worse crimes upon our taste exist, so what matters here is that this is an album of covers done by someone’s favourite New York hardcore/metal hooligans, Pro-Pain. Once past the agonisingly predictable choices ("Circle of the Tyrants"? Never cover this again, people!), there's a few interesting cuts in here, such as Life of Agony's "Weeds" and a cool version of Operation Ivy 's "The Crowd." All in all though, this is as jaw-droppingly boring as any other covers album. A one-spinner at best, given the inclusion of a couple of neat choices, but man, bands who cover Slayer in 2003.
