Following multiple delays, a preliminary hearing has been set in the sex assault case against Hedley frontman Jacob Hoggard.

The case, involving three sex-related charges, will hold its preliminary hearing on July 11 and 12. The decision was announced yesterday (December 19) in a Toronto courtroom, though 34-year-old Hoggard was not present.

As previously reported, Hoggard was arrested this summer and charged with one count of sexual interference and two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm. Three separate incidents allegedly occurred in the Toronto area in 2016, involving a woman and a girl under the age of 16.

In addition to the three charges currently before the court, a number of other sexual misconduct allegations have been levelled against Hoggard.

Following the allegations against Hoggard, Hedley have since gone on indefinite hiatus.
