Just like every year, we've reached the time where bands and musicians start releasing Christmas songs. Whether they're goofy new sing-alongs or renditions of Christmas classics, there's always a flurry of festive music. Vancouver power pop legends the Pointed Sticks have joined in the fun, recently posting two new Christmas tracks to their website.
Now available for free download, the songs "Power Pop Santa" and "Xmastime Again" transform the Pointed Sticks' regular quirky punk sound into some instant Christmas classics. "Power Pop Santa" even namedrops the Tranzmitors among many other bands who will be receiving gifts from a fictional Santa who has great taste in music.
The Pointed Sticks don't have any shows booked as of now but they are very much active, having played the Rock-a-Round Wild Weekend Power Pop Festival in Austin, Texas back in August.
