A Place To Bury Strangers Sign To Mute

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Mar 5, 2009

Just when our ADD-rattled brains were starting to get all fuzzy about A Place to Bury Strangers, the noisy drone mongers have popped in with an update. According to the band, the Brooklynites are switching labels, announcing their yet untitled sophomore effort will be out via their new home of Mute Records, the label behind such celeb acts as Depeche Mode, Nick Cave and Liars.

Here's what APTBS front-man Oliver Ackermann had to say about the deal: "They have put out some of our favourite records over the years. I can't think of a label that better fosters experimentally creative music." (Seriously, what do you expect him to say?)

And while there aren't any details yet to report on that new record, the group do have some tour dates lined up, though none are in Canada. And, hey, whad'ya know, APTBS are Twittering, meaning you can too can follow along with their slow descent into hearing loss.
