Pif Paf Hangover

'Curry Love' (album stream)

BY Matthew RitchiePublished Mar 10, 2014

Electro indie-pop outfit Pif Paf Hangover have been steadily slaving away in the Montreal music scene ever since their arrival back in 2009. But after five years of performances around la Belle Provence and one standalone EP, the band are ready to issue their first-ever full-length on the Good People Records. Curry Love won't see it's release until March 18. While you wait, stream the album in its entirety on Exclaim.ca.

Recorded at Cerantola Studio and co-produced by the band and award-winning producer David Laurendeau, Curry Love finds the Canadian four-piece effortlessly spreading early aughts dance punk (album opener "12 Pack"), spicy dancefloor séances ("So Long," "Bombay") and pungent pop ballads ("Curry Love Marinade") over the albums 13 tracks.

Rounding out the record's sound even further are a variety of studio contributions, including string accompaniments from Monogrenade cellist Marianne Houle, as well as performances from vocalists Audrey Emery, Amylie, Myëlle and Warren Slim Williams.
