Following a pair of full-lengths for Topshelf Records, Baltimore post hardcore act Pianos Become the Teeth have announced they've inked up with the venerable Epitaph imprint to deliver their third LP, Keep You.
A press release confirms the signing, noting the group's label debut will be delivered October 28. While the outfit issued a split EP with Touché Amoré in 2013, this will be the first full-length effort for Pianos Become the Teeth since 2011's The Lack Long After.
Keep You was recorded with producer Will Yip (Braid, Title Fight, Touché Amoré) over the course of a month at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA. The album is said to expand upon the group's early melodic hardcore sound with spacious arrangements, opting for "raw emotion instead of distortion." Focusing on moody and haunting compositions," Pianos Become the Teeth add strings to songs like "Repine," with the LP homing in on themes of mortality and communication.
"The album is about things you want to say to people but you can't for some reason whether it's because they're not in your life anymore or they've passed away," vocalist Kyle Durfey said in a statement.
You'll find a stream of the album's symphony-assisted "Repine" beneath Keep You's tracklisting and info on upcoming U.S. tour dates.
