Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All

DS

In case the hilariously awesome name didn't give it away, this Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney sequel isn't your average video game. There's no button-mashing, bug-killing or kart-racing but there is a lot of reading. Whoa, hold on now. It's totally way more fun than that sounds. The dialogue, mysteries and characters, like police detective Dick Gumshoe and psychic sidekick Maya, are as amusingly bizarre as the 2D anime-style graphics. While the four new cases in this admittedly slow-paced sequel maintain the same basics as its cult lawyer sim predecessor. While it ain't broke, this Japanese Game Boy Advance port could use more DS-specific touches than just being able to shout "objection!" into the built-in microphone. Splitting time between courtroom arguments and crime-scene investigations, you play the titular spiky-haired attorney-at-law and must apply brainpower (or online cheat sheets) to deduce who really committed the crime. Using clue-gathering and witness badgering, you either elicit a confession or your innocent client gets sent off to the big house. Or, small house, I guess, since this is played on a handheld.
