Get those dusty oxford shoes out of your closet

This is the moment every indie sleaze-era Tumblr user has been waiting for: Phoenix have just dropped a single featuring Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig — and the French pop quartet have a new album on the way. Alpha Zulu arrives on November 4 via Loyaute/Glassnote Records.

Alpha Zulu was recorded at Paris' Musée des Arts Décoratifs — a museum within Palais du Louvre — during the throes of the pandemic. "We felt it would be a fantastic adventure to create something out of nothing in a museum," said Phoenix member Laurent "Branco" Brancowitz. "And so with the pandemic, we could live exactly this scene, to be alone in an empty museum."

Released in tandem with the album announcement, new single "Tonight" marks Phoenix's first ever duet — showcasing frontman Thomas Mars and Koenig trading off verses. The music video for the track was shot between Tokyo and Paris, featuring some shots in the aforementioned Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
