It's been over six years since moody rockers A Perfect Circle's last album, 2004's cover-song-laden eMOTIVe, but it looks as if the band are warming up to the idea of recording some new material. Following some reunion dates last fall, the band recently announced a lengthier jaunt that will take them through the summer, and guitarist Billy Howerdel confirms that they will be playing some new material that could eventually end up on a record.
"We're going to have at least one new song on the tour," the six-stringer told Rock News Desk [via AUX]. "It's very close to being done, and from there, things could come together. Once we're on the road and start hashing through our ideas, they could quickly become a song and make it onto the stage."
The guitarist added that there are plans for a new disc at some point, though he's not revealing when that album may be out.
"So there's an album in the works, but not for this summer," he continued. "The idea was to get the juices flowing a bit and get back into A Perfect Circle mode, and go from there. But we do intend to record new material."
