Paul McCartney made his solo debut with 1970's McCartney, which he then followed with second solo effort McCartney II in 1980. Forty years later, it appears the iconic songwriter will soon deliver McCartney III if a series of teasers are to be believed.
On Spotify last week, users that went to play songs from the aforementioned McCartney albums through the service's mobile app were shown animated overlays of a hand rolling a die, having it land on the number three.

McCartney himself then followed that teaser with a series of his own today, sharing photos each captioned with a trio of dice. What's more, Macca fans have also reported receiving McCartney-branded bags of dice, bearing the songwriter's name and three dots on its faces.
Speaking with GQ in August, McCartney shared that he had been up to some writing and recording in pandemic isolation.
"I've been able to write and get into music, starting songs, finishing songs," he told the publication. "I've had a few little things to write and it's given me the time to finish some songs that I hadn't found the time to get around to."
McCartney last released solo album Egypt Station in 2018. Earlier this year, he reissued 1997's Flaming Pie.
