All apologies for not truly believing this would happen, guys, but Sir Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana did in fact come together to bash out a new song last night (December 12) at the Superstorm Sandy benefit in New York. It's called "Cut Me Some Slack," and you can stream the unbelievable collaboration down below.

Following a few words about how their jam sessions came to be, Macca invited the guys onstage to crank out the bluesy tune. Grohl beats on his kit all Helter Skelter, while McCartney delivers a little bit of blues side to the hard rock number. Bassist Krist Novoselic and guitarist Pat Smear, meanwhile, seem pretty damn glad to be there. We're not sure exactly what the cute Beatle is wailing about, but he implores his momma to leave him be, set him free, and let him have his fun.

"Cut Me Some Slack" will also appear on Grohl's upcoming film Sound City Movie, and you can sample a snippet of the studio version beneath the live clip.
