Paul McCartney rose to fame in the 1960s, but the new video for his song "Appreciate" suggests he will still be a notable figure in the year 3116.
In the clip for this groove-laced track from last year's New, we are taken to the distant future, when a robot visits a Museum of Man to view relics from the presumably extinct species. Macca is inside one of the exhibits, and he dances and plays music with a robot named Newman. Meanwhile, all of the other exhibits in the museum also come to life.
McCartney said in a statement, "I woke up one morning with an image in my head of me standing with a large robot. I thought it might be something that could be used for the cover of my album New but instead the idea turned out to be for my music video for 'Appreciate'. Together with the people who had done the puppetry for the worldwide hit War Horse we developed the robot who became Newman."
The Microsoft-presented clip was directed by Andre Chocron.
