Patrick Wolf may have released his Lupercalia album this past spring, but the English popster will issue an EP's worth of material next month. The musician took to his Twitter this morning (October 11) to confirm the record, titled Brumalia.
"And the rumours are true! I am releasing a brand new Ep called "Brumalia"on 28/11/11 -- a musical story written around the song 'together,'" he wrote, alluding to one of the tracks of his latest LP.
A full tracklisting for the EP, which is set to drop in the UK November 28, has yet to be revealed.
In a statement, Wolf further explained that the mini-set was inspired by a recent trip to the Florida swamplands, though its songs were recorded at his home studio. One of the tracks was apparently sketched out on his iPad.
Details on the artwork, which you can see above, are more plentiful. The two stoic black and white shots of the singer were taken, interestingly, by punk icon Patti Smith, with whom Wolf has collaborated.
"These are two photos Patti took of me on Cooden Beach on a freezing windy winter day earlier this year the day after I played harp and viola for her at the De La Warr Pavilion," Wolf said. "To me the photos sum up the bleakness and melancholy of England in the winter months, which was something that inspired the choice of songs on this EP."
A North American release date has yet to be set.
