Exclaim! has partnered up with our good friends over at AUX to produce Parental Advisory, a series that takes a look into the way parents help shape great artists. The show premieres on AUX TV this Sunday at 8:30 p.m. EST, which just so happens to be Mother's Day.
Splicing interviews with clips from music videos, Parental Advisory profiles bands who share relatable stories about their supportive and often funnily embarrassing moms and dads.
For now, here's a preview of the first episode featuring Max Kerman of the Arkells. He speaks about being a "Beatles fanatic" in kindergarten, his radio DJ father and his mother who always makes sure he's wearing earplugs.
Also featured in Sunday's first episode are The Darcys, Austra and Tokyo Police Club. Every Monday Exclaim! will be posting segments from the show, so stay tuned.
