In the latest episode of Exclaim! TV's Aggressive Tendencies series, we feature UK gothic doom metal band Paradise Lost.
During a recent stop at Toronto's Opera House while on tour with Devin Townsend and Katatonia, Exclaim! TV caught up with Paradise Lost lead guitarist Greg Mackintosh. He discussed the band's 13th studio album, Tragic Idol, and how it's more stripped down and minimalist than their previous releases, which makes it more melodic. Mackintosh also reminisces about when Paradise Lost first started out in 1988 and how their sound has evolved over the years, as well as their mentality for living in the moment.
Paradise Lost's Tragic Idol is out now and is the follow-up to 2009's Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us and 2007's In Requiem.
Interview conducted by Denise Falzon
Interview and live footage shot by Roberto Granados-Ocon
