Papercuts Announce North American Tour

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Apr 13, 2009

With Papercuts' You Can Have What You Want due out tomorrow (April 14) on Gnomonsong, today seemed like a pretty good time to drop a new album reminder, as well as outline the band's upcoming North American tour schedule.

On the live front, the group will kick off their activities on April 24 in their hometown of San Francisco, then head off across the States and eventually up to Canada, where they'll play a show in London, ON on May 14 and another in Toronto on May 15. As previously reported, the dates will feature the sad pop gems of You Can Have What You Want, which the press release sums up as cutting across "several eras of dreamy sound: '80s/'90s Creation and 4AD records, the Zombies, '60s French pop, even Can's Future Days, and then there's the inevitable connection to former tourmates Beach House & Grizzly Bear." And as we recently said in Click Hear, this description is pretty spot on.

Also, if you are looking for some instant gratification, New Zealand tropicalists the Ruby Suns have just released a remix of You Can Have What You Want track "Future Primitive," which suddenly entered the race of Best Remix of the Year. You can download Ruby Suns' redo here and the original Papercuts version here.
