It's been almost a year since Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno announced he was teaming up with members of disbanded metal vets Isis for a new project called Palms, and now the group are finally ready to unveil some new tunes. First up is a hazy, though currently untitled, cut.
The track figures in on the more ethereal qualities of their other acts, with melancholy, post-rock minded guitar sweeps scoring Moreno's elemental voyage ("Over the sun, into the light, over the sea, the waves go by"). It gets a little noisier near the end, but the song retains its dreamlike quality. Apparently the song will figure on the band's debut EP, which supposedly arrives in June.
