After a string of solo releases from earlier this year, Ottawa-based R&B newcomer Ceesar has readied his debut EP Hustle & Passion. It's out now, and you can listen to it in full (courtesy of Believe Digital) here at Exclaim!
The six-track release is filled with songs about love and loss, on the backdrop of low-key hip-hop/R&B beats, hypnotic melodies, smooth vocals and the ambitious grittiness of a driven, DIY-forward artist.
"As a new artist, the support I received from listeners after releasing my single, 'About You,' meant the world to me, and now I can't wait to share the rest of my music with everyone!" Ceesar said in a release. "I look forward to growing as an artist with this release, and I hope everyone will join me in my musical journey."
Recorded over the last year, Ceesar applied his entrepreneurial approach to making the record independently. The artist's drive to succeed in the industry may be unmatched, but ultimately his goal is to create music that will "make people happy."
