Orbital might not earn quite as much cash as the upstart DJs who dominate today's electronic music scene, but there are still plenty of folks who will be excited to learn that legendary duo will be hitting the road this fall.
The iconic British electro act will be playing a brief five-date tour of North America's West Coast in September. Along with some U.S. stops, the trip includes a lone Canadian show in Vancouver on September 26. A month later, the act will return to the U.S. for a one-off appearance at Asheville, NC's Moogfest.
The band's Paul Hartnoll said in a statement, "I really miss playing in America! We've done some of our best gigs there over the years. Having done our first ever tour in 1992 with Meat Beat Manifesto we used to be quite regular. This has been the longest we've gone without touring the States so it's well overdue! We're really lookin' forward to returning and seeing what you've all been up to while we were away!"
This tour will be in support of the recent album Wonky, and a press release notes that the shows will be "an exhilarating journey through the past and present of this historic electronic duo."
The band also have a host of European dates on the horizon. See their international schedule here.
Tour dates:
9/22 San Bernadino, CA - Nocturnal Wonderland
9/24 San Francisco, CA - Regency Ballroom
9/26 Vancouver, BC - Vogue Theatre
9/27 Seattle, WA - Paramount Ballroom (Decibel Festival)
9/28 Portland, OR - Roseland Theater
10/27 Asheville, NC - Moogfest
