Now that Omar Souleyman has delivered the cold hard facts behind his upcoming, Four Tet-produced Wenu Wenu LP, the Syrian dance music figure has unveiled the album's charged-up title track.
The seven-minute number bounces along to a hypnotic dabke dance music beat, with a synthetic Eastern flute wriggling around house hi-hats, '90s breaks and Souleyman's heart-stirring vocals. The lyrics, here translated into English and scrolled across the screen, find the singer lovelorn and fully put through the wringer ("Though you're torturing me, I can never forget you.")
You can hear his sad, sad song down below.
As previously reported, Wenu Wenu drops October 22 via Ribbon Music.
