Embrace the Wretched Flesh

Of Feather and Bone hail from Denver, a city so blessed with natural beauty that it's more an attraction than anything man-made. You'd be hard-pressed to find an ounce of that beauty manifested in their music, however. Embrace the Wretched Flesh is the sonic equivalent of falling down a mountain, the jagged rocks cutting into tissue while the impact batters and bruises.

This trio is equally adept at balancing the metal and punk sides of their blackened crust equation. Embrace the Wretched Flesh is played with the ferocity of grindcore, its unrelenting vigour spread throughout so that even the slower bits feel powerful, as in the foreboding segue of "The Proclaim of Hatred," or on the Cursed-by-way-of-Norway tune "Calloused Embrace." An equally sudden transition in the midsection of "Ignore Their Remorse" leads to a frantic freak-out.

This flesh is gangrenous and you never know when it will fall off; embrace at your own risk.
