Brooklyn quartet Obits' third LP, Bed & Bugs, is nearly due, but if you can't quite wait for the record to officially hit stores on September 10 through Sub Pop, the band are now streaming the album in full via Exclaim.ca.
As previously reported, the 13-song follow-up to 2011's Moody, Standard and Poor was recorded in Arlington, VA, with Nikhil Ranade, while additional mixing was provided by Eli Janney and Geoff Sanoff. Like previous releases, the sound of Bed & Bugs mixes influences like the Wipers with the Obits membership's rich musical history (Hot Snakes, Edsel, Drive Like Jehu).
This goes for cuts like the distorted lick-slinger "Taste the Diff," which features an especially scratchy vocal take from leader Rick Froberg; the feverish punk assault "It's Sick"; and the harmonica-honking "Operation Bikini." Also offered up is a tide-riding surf rock instrumental called "Besetchet."
You can stream those songs and more down below, as well as check out the band's exclusive track-by-track guide to the album over here.
As previously reported, Obits are hitting up Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver on their North American tour this fall, and you can check out the gig info over here.
