By concentrating upon the compositions of one of Sweden's most celebrated masters of Nyckelharpa tradition, this sextet creates a program of compelling musical focus. While Byss-Calle is reputed to have possessed supernatural powers of comic-book proportions, his rich understanding of classical tradition explains the formal structure integral to the elegant contrapuntal variations of his music.
