Earlier this month, rumours circulated around the web that beloved Virginia rap duo the Clipse were reuniting for a new album. The group's Pusha T seemingly confirmed the reunion with a Facebook post. Apparently we misunderstood him, however, as his brother and bandmate No Malice has stepped forward to deny the reports.
Speaking with The Fader, No Malice bluntly denied the rumours, saying, "there is no new Clipse album in the works."
"It's not going down," he added. "I don't know where the rumour stems from. And I don't know how this keeps coming back up — this isn't the first time. But I would never play with the fans like that and act like something's about to happen and it's not."
Still, No Malice is not ruling out a reunion in the future. "I'm very certain that it could happen. A Clipse album could be done. There would be nothing like it."
Ultimately, it would be different now that the rapper has turned from his previous ways and embraced a life as a born again Christian. "I think the fans want to rekindle that whole entire lifestyle which I no longer live," he said. "But I will not be rapping like that. I was that, every bit of that lifestyle, and this is where I'm at now. I don't condemn or have anything negative to say about anyone, this is just the move I chose to make."
In the meantime, Pusha T has been hard at work on the follow-up to his 2013 effort My Name Is My Name. The album is called King Push and is being produced by the Neptunes.
