While nothing has been firmly confirmed by either act, it's being hinted at that Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden could be heading out on the road together on a North American tour this summer.
The buzz began earlier this week when a link appeared on the Live Nation website advertising the two bands playing Dallas, TX's Gexa Energy Pavilion on August 17. While the show info has since been taken down, the PRP screen-grabbed the concert promoter's reveal.
While neither Soundgarden nor Nine Inch Nails have spoken directly about the tour, both acts have since uploaded similar tour teasers on their respective Instagram pages. The Nine Inch Nails post, scored by some moody music, features a series of black and white shots of the band onstage, as well as of venues, city streets and maps, all capping with the message "coming soon."
As for Soundgarden, their post is a bit more colourful and shows off photos of venues and seating diagrams. The clip also showcases the band's "My Wave," tying into the recent announcement that Soundgarden's Superunknown will receive a 20th anniversary box set release on June 3 through A&M Records/UME.
It should also be noted that 2014 also marks the 20th anniversary of Nine Inch Nails' The Downward Spiral, which was actually released the same day as the Soundgarden record, on March 8, 1994.
A Reddit user [via Consequence of Sound] did some sleuthing as to which concert spots were shown, and apparently one of them is Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre.
