As you may have noticed, we're getting pretty excited about the upcoming release of Together, the fifth album from beloved Canadian pop rock collective the New Pornographers. With the album's May 4 release date on the horizon and the track "Your Hands (Together)" now available for streaming, we didn't think there could be anything more to get us pumped up about this one. Then we caught wind of their upcoming North American tour dates.
This summer, the New Pornographers will treat Canada to seven shows across the country, and play several more south of the border in the U.S. The first set of Canadian shows in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg will feature support from the Mountain Goats. Then, for their shows in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, the band will be joined by the Dodos, as well as the Dutchess and the Duke.
While tickets for these events go on sale March 26, the New Pornographers have set up a special direct ticketing system here, where a limited number of tickets will be available through that site at a discounted price.
As for Together, which is being released in Canada by Last Gang Records, the album is available for pre-order in Canada here. Album pre-orders will be treated to an exclusive two-song seven-inch and a poster, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get your order in now. And if you head over to iTunes, you can also grab new single "The Crash Years," which went on sale today (March 23).
