New Pornographers Cancel Euro Tour, Winnipeg Show

Vancouver power poppers New Pornographers have fallen victim to the dreaded "personal reasons,” forcing them to cancel their upcoming European tour, as well as a date in Winnipeg.

Via their email newsletter, the band had this to say:

We regretfully must inform you that we have had to cancel our trip to Europe this coming July due to personal reasons. Sorry that sounds generic, but it's sincere. We do not like having to cancel shows and were very excited about returning to Europe, but the unforeseen circumstances that have arisen just have made it impossible to do so in July.

Please rest assured, though, that everyone in the band is safe, healthy (physically and most of the time mentally), and chemically independent, and we hope that you are as well.

As you may recall, earlier this year New Pornographers were in another sticky touring situation when Neko Case fractured her ankle, forcing her to miss out on the band’s live dates. But with some luck, whatever dark cloud is following the group these days will let up and the rest of their tour dates will stay intact.
