Take Supergrass, throw in a vocalist with a serious thing for Marc Bolan, bring the organ up a little in the mix and lean on that whole blues-rock thing. Thats the nutshell take on Chicago quartet the New Constitution, whose full-length debut arrives just ahead of the inevitable rock-revival backlash. Good thing for these fellas theres enough youthful confidence and playful swagger in their routine to have them come off as more or less impervious. Incidentally, only one of the bands two principal vocalists worships at the T. Rex altar, yet both are inclined towards occasional inflections of faux British accents. Cor blimey, whats up with that?
