Neil Young + Promise of the Real

"Children of Destiny" (video)

Just in time for the long weekend, Canadian treasure Neil Young has unveiled a brand new track taking aim at the American government.

A collaborative effort with his band Promise of the Real, "Children of Destiny" was recorded and mixed at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, with the Volume Dealers (a.k.a. Young and Niko Bolas) handling production. In addition to Young and Promise of the Real, the track also features a 56-piece orchestra.

The politically charged new tune arrives complete with visual accompaniment, courtesy of Shakey Pictures / DHNY production — and despite Young's home and native land, the clip is jam-packed with American imagery. There's also plenty of footage of massive protests from around the world, as Young encourages us to "stand up for what you believe" and "resist the powers that be."

The group's latest full-length effort arrived last summer with the album Earth. Watch and listen to their latest offering by playing "Children of Destiny" below.
