With American Thanksgiving behind us, the Christmas season is officially in full swing, and Vancouver songwriter Nat Jay is celebrating by releasing the new holiday tune "Christmas in Paradise."
The song is a cuddly, contented pop tune about a Christmas spent in the tropics, nds the singer asks, "Who is it that said Christmas / Was just green and red? I see / Blue skies and orange sunsets / The mistletoe hangs in the palm tree above my head." In keeping with the sunny theme, the song is performed primarily on ukulele, with backing provided by bouncy drums, jingling bells and a sweetly meandering synth.
The song will officially be out tomorrow (December 1) and Exclaim! has the premiere. Hear it below.
This follows the musician's 2014 album All I Think When I Wake Up and the 2015 EP Quiet Dreams.
