Two years after returning to action with No_One Ever Really Dies, N.E.R.D. are set to revisit their 2001 debut In Search Of... with a new box set reissue.

The Pharrell-fronted group will release both the "electronic version" and "rock version" of their debut album as a 4xLP box set on October 25 through Virgin/Urban Legends/UMe.

Both versions will arrive in their own gatefold jackets, which will come in a rigid slipcase alongside a 24-page booklet. New lacquers were cut by Alex Abrash at AA Mastering.

In Search Of...'s initial 2001 European release featured electronic production on its 13 tracks. A worldwide re-release of the album that arrived in 2002 featured live instrumental backing courtesy of funk-rockers Spymob. The "rock version" also sports different sequencing and does not feature the first edition's skits or "Intro" track.

A digital deluxe edition of In Search Of... will also be available, featuring seven rare and previously unissued remixes and live tracks. Both physical and digital editions are now available for pre-order.

Pharrell and his N.E.R.D. bandmate Chad Hugo recently collaborated with Blink-182 and Lil Uzi Vert.
