Myracle Brah

Treblemaker

BY Chuck MolgatPublished Feb 1, 2004

Like most of their Rainbow Quartz label-mates, Myracle Brah wears its classic, ’60s pop influence on its Union Jack patch-emblazoned sleeve. Unlike some of those contemporaries, though, the Baltimore-based guitar rock trio isn’t bent on merely paying imitative lick-service to the music of a bygone era. As such, the Brah brigade has a lot more in common with Guided By Voices than it does the Beatles. Though not nearly as prolific, guitarist/vocalist Andy Bopp (better known to some as former front-man of Interscope unit Love Nut) has a downright Robert Pollard-style knack for coming up with consistently catchy melodies and crafting them into solid tracks that sound as fresh as they do familiar.
