It's getting to be MUTEK time again, and Montreal's long-running electronic festival has just announced the first batch of artists that will take part in their 2013 edition.

Running May 29 to June 2, the 14th annual instalment of the fest will include conceptual soundscaper Matthew Herbert's first trip to Montreal since 2005. The artist will showcase three separate projects at MUTEK: his One Pig project, an improvised performance that utilizes a 10-second recording from a war photojournalist from Libya, and a DJ set under the name WISHMOUNTAIN.

Also appearing at MUTEK this year will be UK electro R&B experimenter Jamie Lidell, Andy Stott, John Talabot, Michael Mayer, Nils Frahm, Ryoichi Kurokawa, Juju & Jordash, Martyn, Robert Hood and more. On the local front, Montreal's Ghislain Poirier will premiere a new project called Boundary.

MUTEK is currently selling an all-access "passport" for $200, and a weekend pass for $120, though the early bird prices get jacked up after March 31. You can get more info on ticketing over here.
