Mus

An ambient duo from Spain, Mus have two EPs already out and there are other forthcoming projects, including something for Darla's Bliss Out series. This 12-song full-length explores the effect of sampled string arrangements taken from Austrian Cauciones, (which sounds like classical to the untrained ear), and looped piano sets. Treasures are unearthed. Only three songs feature Monica's singing (also in Austrian) and four more utilise her vocal phrasing in a more sparse, chanting capacity. The pieces are filled out with ethereal textures that gently sink whilst buoying the listeners mentality. Fran, the male-half, runs Spain's international film festival; curators by necessity have good taste, as this album is testifies.
