Last Halloween, Mike Patton and co. got back together as Mr. Bungle for a seriously epic livestream special, and now we'll be able to relive all the insanity with a proper release of the show.
Called The Night They Came Home, the live package will arrive both physically and digitally on June 11 via Ipecac Recordings, and today they are previewing the effort with a video for its "Bungle Grind."
The livestream found the reunited Mr. Bungle playing a selection of tracks on their then newly released album The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo, in addition to some pretty wild covers. Throughout the show, they took on songs by Circle Jerks, S.O.D., Van Halen, and a medley of Slayer and Seas & Croft, believe it or not.
With a bunch of behind-the-scenes footage thrown in, the film portion of the release spans nearly two hours and was directed by Jack Bennett. It also features reaction cameos from the likes of Henry Rollins, Josh Homme, Brian Posehn and Eric Andre.
The Night They Came Home will arrive as a CD, Blu-ray, CD + DVD, VHS and digitally. The CD portion features remastered audio, while the film includes Neil Hamburger's opening set, three official music videos ("Raping Your Mind," "Eracist" and "Sudden Death") and extended behind-the-scenes footage.
The VHS version is limited to 1,000 copies and is edited down to the performance-only portion of the film.
