These days it's almost against the law for any semi-electronic group to release an album without following it up with a slew of remixes later that year. It's a trend that's not terribly old, but seems ubiquitous now, and is a great little refresher tactic. There's so much music currently that even the standout albums get forgotten quicker than they should. A remix album can draw you right back into the original material, even if the remixes are average, as is the case with CSFLY Remixes. Both Kyle Hall and Lee Gamble's remix of "You Took Your Time" fall into the same trap as many before them: while their tracks are great, they're not great versions of the originals. The problem is that they're too far removed from the source material, making them basically different numbers. Oneman's take on the track, however, strikes the perfect balance between manipulation and homage. Interestingly, it also features input from rapper Jeremiah Jae, who not only takes on the same melancholic tone as King Krule, but complements his vocals so well that it's hard to listen to the original without waiting for Jae to chime in.
