Moore Brothers

This would have to be my first disappointment from the Amazing Grease label. And, as disappointments go, they come as a result of expectation, which in this case were brought on by the awesome "Humans Will Take Care" single that preceded this full-length album. "Humans..." is by far the best track on the album, with "The Ghosts of San Rafael" the only other track coming close, with its unique melodic structure. Granted, these brothers from Altadena, CA parlay their soft vocal harmonies and mellow delivery into finely-tuned, stripped-down pop songs, paying homage to the classic pop of the Beatles, but the album as a whole lacks teeth, riding a consistently halcyon vibe throughout. It's so completely inoffensive that I'm sleeping on this one.
