Last year, Spiral Beach's Daniel Benjamin and Maddy Wilde re-teamed as Moon King and released their Obsession I EP, the title of which implied that it would be followed by a sequel. Sure enough, Moon King have confirmed plans to release Obsession II this spring. It will drop on April 20 through One Big Silence.
According to a press release, the EP expands the band's sound with distorted guitar riffs and influences including Jane's Addition and the Jesus and Mary Chain — albeit with more of a sense of fun than those bands.
This is said to be the second in a series of Obsession releases, so it's possible that more will follow. The atmosphere-kissed pop tune "Appel" is streaming at the bottom of this page.
