Montreal's Les Shirley — featuring Sarah Dion and Lisandre Bourdages of NOBRO on bass and drums, respectively — are back and promising a surplus of the very essence of punk on their forthcoming sophomore album, previewed by new single "Nothing Compares."

More Is More arrives October 28. It follows the band's 2021 debut album Forever Is Now, which they took on tour through Ontario earlier this year. The new record sees the punk trio join forces with Marie-Pierre Arthur, who has been a major player in the Quebec indie scene for over a decade.

Leaning into '90s grunge and '00s punk rock in equal measure, new single "Nothing Compares" is a gnarly mid-tempo cut driven by scuzzy guitar riffs and an undeniable singalong hook.

"It is [about] the overwhelming feeling that you'll never get back what you've lost," singer-guitarist Raphaëlle Chouinard said of the song in a press release. "When you find yourself in a different place, a cycle ends but you're not over it yet. It's that in-between state where you still love and care for someone but you must let go."
