Moderat Announce North American Dates

BY Brock ThiessenPublished May 11, 2009

Electronic power trio Moderat (aka Modeselektor and Apparat) have popped in to remind us that they'll soon be bringing their live show to North America. Come next week, the glitched-out Germans will begin making the rounds in the U.S., visiting Canada on May 28 (Montreal) and May 29 (Toronto).

Apparently, the live show will be an "audio-visual spectacle," the PR says, with the three members of Moderat being joined by the two members of the video/visual art group Pfadfinderei. It also says three video screens will grace the stage and the images will be "perfectly synchronized to the audio," in what the band are calling their "most improvised and concert-like performance ever."

As previously reported, the dates come as Moderat celebrate the release of their self-titled debut full-length, which is due out May 12 on Bpitch Control. On top of the regular version, the record will be released as a deluxe deal with a DVD produced by Pfadfinderei, bonus tracks, behind-the-scenes footage, and "myriad audio/visual acrobatics." Lead-off single "Rusty Nails" is dropping a bit later on May 25 and will feature remixes by Booka Shade and TRG.

Here are Moderat's upcoming North American dates, followed by a trailer for that DVD:

5/19 Seattle, WA - Neumos
5/20 San Francisco, CA - Harriet
5/22 Los Angeles, CA - Paladium
5/23 Denver, CO - Beta
