Misery Index

Featuring former members of the brutal American death metal outfit Dying Fetus comes this monster of a debut from Misery Index. This could set the new standard this year in death metal. What sets them apart from most is their ability to write good songs. They incorporate grinding rhythms with some truly pummelling guitar riffing that works so well together. The band also has a real sense of groove that make the songs flow well. The drumming alone is unbelievable; blast-beats and double-kicks done so precisely you would swear you were hearing Burnt By the Sun's Dave Witte behind the kit. This kid is that good. This is head and shoulders above the latest Dying Fetus album.
